Trainee Solicitors

Many of the Partners at Vizards Tweedie undertook their training with the firm, and we hope to recruit Trainee Solicitors who will have the enthusiasm and skills to continue their career with us after qualification. With that in mind, we seek applications from graduates with a good Honours degree from a recognised university. Relevant work experience is desired, but not essential. An ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the law and a commercial outlook will be required.

Trainee Solicitors at Vizards Tweedie will have direct client contact and their own caseload from an early stage and the training will cover experience in at least 3 practice areas, as required by the Law Society. Trainee Solicitors will be supervised by a Partner and will have a mentor who follows their progress through the 2 years training contract. We also operate an open door policy & trainees are encouraged to discuss cases and points of law with Partners on a personal basis. Their progress will be monitored throughout the Training Contract and formally appraised at six monthly intervals. We generally recruit two trainee solicitors per year.

For September 2010 please apply between 1st May and 30th  September 2009.

We do not retain applications from one recruitment year to the next. Therefore, CVs submitted outside the current recruitment year will not be considered and will be destroyed. You are invited to resubmit your CV at the appropriate time in the future.

Vizards Tweedie does not generally recruit Paralegals with a view to awarding them a Training Contract. Any specific Paralegal vacancies will be advertised on this site.

Vizards Tweedie does not have a formal vacation work experience scheme at present
